Sobhita Dhulipala, who tied the knot with Naga Chaitanya in Hyderabad last year, reflected on completing one year of marriage and described.
The phase as emotional, grounding and creatively inspiring. In an exclusive conversation with The Made in Heaven actress spoke about how love, for her, comes from recognising one’s own completeness, with a partner simply illuminating the parts of oneself that already exist.
Sharing her thoughts in a wedding anniversary video, Sobhita said, “I don’t know if I believe that a person is incomplete and somebody else comes in and fills that void. I think we are complete on our own. And yet, in his absence, I would not be full.”
Expanding on her philosophy of love, she added, “I was feeling quite emotional, so I spoke from that space at the time. It’s a little like Carl Jung’s theory. Many people believe soulmates complete us, but I don’t see it that way. Some realise early that they don’t need someone else to make them whole; others take time. But in that journey, we long for someone who complements us — the yin to our yang. They don’t complete you, but through them, you recognise parts of your own personality. And in that longing, I think a lot of love is born.”
Marriage, she admitted, hasn’t slowed life down. “I thought I’d chill for a bit and explore Hyderabad after getting married, but I’ve been shooting two films. It’s been over 160 shoot days, mostly in Tamil Nadu. It’s been exciting.” On how the couple finds time for each other despite packed schedules, she added, “If you like something, you’ll make it happen. It will feel easy. If you don’t, even the most convenient thing feels tough.”
Reflecting on a year of marriage with Naga Chaitanya, Sobhita smiled and said, “It’s been blissful, great. I’ve been in a very inspired state creatively. I feel greatly empowered.”
Naga Chaitanya was previously married to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who recently tied the knot with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru of Raj & DK.
