Amid an ongoing police investigation into allegations of religious conversion and sexual misconduct at its Nashik unit, IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Friday said.

It had not received any related complaints through its internal ethics or POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) channels. “A preliminary review of the systems and records pertaining to the Nashik unit indicates that we have not received any complaints of the nature that are being alleged on either our ethics or POSH channels,” the company said in a statement.

TCS also announced the formation of an oversight committee and said it has engaged external agencies to assist in the internal probe. The committee will be chaired by independent director and finance industry veteran Keki Mistry, according to the company.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Police have arrested seven employees in connection with the case, including six men and one woman described as a human resources head. Another employee, Nida Khan, is currently absconding.

The case surfaced after a woman alleged that a colleague, Danish Sheikh, entered into a physical relationship with her after falsely promising marriage in 2022, despite being already married.

According to police, Nida Khan—identified as Sheikh’s sister—allegedly made derogatory remarks about the complainant’s religion and attempted to pressure her into changing her faith. She is also accused of concealing Sheikh’s marital status along with another accused, Tausif Akhtar.

As the investigation expanded, seven more women reportedly came forward with allegations of mental and sexual harassment by senior colleagues, claiming their complaints were ignored by the HR department. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred between February 2022 and March 2026.

Search for Nida Khan

A Nashik police Crime Branch team recently visited Mumbra in Thane district in search of Nida Khan and questioned her husband regarding her whereabouts. Her family claims she is currently in Mumbai and expecting her first child. She has also reportedly filed for anticipatory bail in a Nashik court.

Clarification by TCS

TCS has clarified that Nida Khan is not an HR manager and does not hold any recruitment or leadership role. The company said she was employed as a process associate.

The company has suspended all employees named in the case and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward harassment, stating that it is fully cooperating with the police investigation.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran described the allegations as “gravely concerning and anguishing,” adding that a detailed internal investigation is underway to establish facts and identify those responsible.
