Un Certain Regard 2026 winners announced as Cannes celebrates auteur cinema and emerging voices

Celebrating discovery-driven storytelling and auteur filmmaking, the 2026 edition of the Un Certain Regard section featured 19 feature films, including six debut works also competing for the prestigious Caméra d’Or. The section opened this year with Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.

The jury was chaired by French actress Leïla Bekhti and included Angèle Diabang, Khaled Mouzanar, Laura Samani and Thomas Cailley.

The Un Certain Regard Prize was awarded to EVERYTIME by Sandra Wollner.

The Jury Prize went to ELEPHANTS IN THE FOG, the debut feature from Abinash Bikram Shah.

The Special Jury Prize was presented to IRON BOY by Louis Clichy.

The Best Actor award was won by Bradley Fiomona Dembeasset for his performance in CONGO BOY, directed by Rafiki Fariala.

Best Actress honours were jointly awarded to Marina de Tavira, Daniela Marín Navarro and Mariangel Villegas for SIEMPRE SOY TU ANIMAL MATERNO, directed by Valentina Maurel.

The Un Certain Regard 2026 selection will also be screened again in Paris, with showings scheduled from May 29 to June 2 at UGC Gobelins, MK2 Quai de Seine and L’Arlequin, followed by another run from June 10 to June 16 at Pathé Convention cinema.
