Unreleased Beyoncé Tracks, Tour Plans Stolen Ahead of Atlanta Shows.
Unreleased music and concert-related plans belonging to global music icon Beyoncé were reportedly stolen from a vehicle in Atlanta just days before the city hosted her “Cowboy Carter” tour performances, authorities said on Monday.
According to an incident report filed by Atlanta Police, the theft occurred on July 8, when a rental car being used by Beyoncé’s choreographer and a dancer was broken into. The incident took place two days before the singer began her four-night run in the city.
Christopher Grant, a 37-year-old choreographer on Beyoncé’s team, told police he returned to the vehicle to find the rear window smashed and several pieces of luggage missing.
Among the stolen items were multiple jump drives said to contain unreleased and watermarked music, rehearsal footage, detailed show plans, and both past and upcoming setlists. Also reported stolen were an Apple MacBook, high-end headphones, and luxury clothing.
Authorities traced the location of the stolen MacBook and headphones but did not recover any items, according to the report. Atlanta Police said in an online update that a warrant has been issued for a suspect, though no arrest has been made yet.
The “Cowboy Carter” tour — which began in April following the release of Beyoncé’s Grammy-winning country album — has been praised for blending genre experimentation with a celebration of Black artists historically underrepresented in country music.
Beyoncé wrapped her Atlanta shows on July 15. Two final tour performances are scheduled for later this month in Las Vegas.
