Venezuela Warns the World After US Captures Maduro.

Venezuela has issued strong warnings following the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, by US forces. Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino López described the operation as a “serious threat to the global order,” urging citizens to remain calm and continue daily activities amid threats of foreign intervention.

“If today it was against Venezuela, tomorrow it could be against any state or any country,” Padrino López said, cautioning against succumbing to “psychological warfare, threats, and fear.” He demanded the immediate release of Maduro and Flores, calling the US action “imperialist,” and affirmed that Venezuela’s military remains united to ensure stability and order.

Meanwhile, interim President Delcy Rodríguez, who previously served as vice president, called for a “balanced and respectful” relationship with the United States, inviting collaboration on a shared development agenda despite Maduro’s capture.

US President Donald Trump warned Rodríguez that she could face a “bigger price” than Maduro if she does not cooperate. He also hinted at a potential second strike on Venezuela, emphasizing the need for full access to Venezuelan oil and resources.

Venezuela’s statements come amid heightened tensions following the US’s most assertive move toward regime change in the country since the 2003 Iraq invasion.
