Veteran Malayalam actor-filmmaker Sreenivasan dies at 69

Veteran Malayalam actor and filmmaker Sreenivasan passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 69. According to PTI, he died at a private hospital in Kochi, where he had been admitted on Friday night.

A native of Kannur, Sreenivasan had been residing in Kochi for several years. Over a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, he wore multiple hats as an actor, director, screenwriter, dubbing artist and producer.

Sreenivasan appeared in over 200 films after making his acting debut with Manimuzhakkam in 1976. He went on to become one of the most influential creative voices in Malayalam cinema, known for his sharp writing and memorable character roles.

He is survived by his two sons, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Dhyan Sreenivasan, both of whom are actors in the Malayalam film industry.
