Vvaan Box Office Collection: Sidharth Malhotra, Tamannaah Bhatia Film Opens at Rs 8 Crore

The Vvaan Box Office Collection Day 1: Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s supernatural thriller The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest opened in theatres on Friday, September 25.

The film has reportedly earned ₹8 crore net at the India box office on its opening day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, The Vvaan recorded the collection from 6,746 shows on Day 1. Its India gross collection stands at around ₹9.60 crore, while the net collection has reached ₹8 crore.

The film marks Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s first collaboration on screen and has opened amid competition from other releases, including Nani’s The Paradise, which arrived in theatres a day earlier. The film’s weekend performance will now be closely watched as it looks to build on its opening-day numbers.

What Is The Vvaan About?

The film follows Rishi, played by Sidharth Malhotra, a city-bred rationalist who travels to his ancestral village in Bihar with his wife Mamta, portrayed by Tamannaah Bhatia, to sell inherited property.

Rishi soon learns about an old village belief surrounding a forest that no one is allowed to enter after sunset. Dismissing the warning as superstition, he supports Deepak, played by Sunil Grover, in clearing part of the forest to improve connectivity in the area.

Things take a supernatural turn when Rishi enters the forbidden forest one night and accidentally breaks an ancient seal. He is then forced to confront the legend of Van Devi and a mysterious supernatural force that has remained hidden for generations.

As unexplained events begin to unfold, Rishi’s rational beliefs are put to the test. He must uncover the truth behind the forest and the secrets buried there before it is too late.

The Vvaan Review

The Vvaan received a 3-star rating in our review. The film was praised for attempting to blend Indian folklore with fantasy, along with its dialogues, humour and performances.

However, the review noted that an inconsistent screenplay, forced humour and unnecessary songs keep the film from becoming a consistently engaging watch.
