Bhupathiraju Rajagopal Raju, father of Telugu superstar Ravi Teja, passed away at the age of 90 late Tuesday night at the actor’s residence in Hyderabad. According to the family’s publicists, his demise was due to age-related health issues. Details regarding the final rites are awaited.

A former pharmacist, Rajagopal Raju led a quiet life away from the limelight, despite his son’s massive stardom. Over the years, he and his family lived across various cities including Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bhopal due to his work. Even after Ravi Teja’s rise to fame, Rajagopal Raju remained active professionally and rarely made public appearances along with his wife Rajya Lakshmi.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, including Ravi Teja. His third son, actor Bharath Raju, tragically passed away in a car accident in 2017.

His recent work includes the 2024 film Mr. Bachchan.
