Mukhtar Ansari’s Son Umar Arrested for Submitting Forged Papers to Reclaim Seized Properties.

Umar Ansari, son of deceased gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly using forged documents in court to reclaim his late father’s seized properties.

According to a statement from the Ghazipur Superintendent of Police, the properties were confiscated under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters Act. Umar reportedly submitted documents in court that falsely claimed ownership and bore the forged signature of his mother, Afshan Ansari.

The petition was filed in an attempt to recover assets belonging to Mukhtar Ansari, who died of cardiac arrest in March this year while in custody at a hospital in Banda, Uttar Pradesh.

Police allege that the forgery was aimed at securing illegal financial gains. Afshan Ansari, named in the case, is currently absconding and carries a reward of ₹50,000 for information leading to her arrest.

“After the fraudulent attempt came to light, a case was registered against Umar Ansari at Mohammadabad police station under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS),” the police statement said.

Umar was arrested by a Ghazipur police team from Lucknow. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
