Boney Kapoor Recalls Ranbir Kapoor’s Patience on Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar Set.

Boney Kapoor, who played Ranbir Kapoor’s father in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, has lauded the actor’s dedication and calmness on set. In a conversation with Komal Nahta, Boney said Ranbir never once complained, even while shooting long hours in tough Delhi summers.

“We shot for 16 hours at a stretch, sometimes shifting to overnight schedules because of the heat. Ranbir didn’t crib for a second,” Boney said.

He also recalled the actor’s remarkable patience during a scene that required 52 retakes. “He gave full respect to the crew. Even when I got flustered after 13–14 retakes, he told me, ‘Till the director is satisfied, you have to keep going.’ That’s his approach — patient and professional. He was a pleasure to work with,” Boney added.

Ranbir’s co-stars have often echoed similar sentiments. Recently, Saurabh Sachdeva, who worked with him in Animal, praised his curiosity and willingness to learn. “He wanted to know about my techniques, including mask work, and showed genuine interest. Curiosity is the best friend of an artiste,” Sachdeva said.

Meanwhile, Ranbir is busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, slated for release on March 26 next year. Inspired by Raj Kapoor’s Sangam, the film explores a love triangle against a wartime backdrop, featuring Ranbir alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
