Two Terrorists Killed in Kupwara LoC Encounter as Security Forces Foil Infiltration Attempt.

Fresh tensions erupted along the Line of Control (LoC) late Monday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, with firing and explosions reported in the Machil and Dudniyal sectors amid a suspected infiltration attempt. Two terrorists were neutralised by security forces.

According to sources, troops spotted suspicious movement near the Machil LoC, prompting an immediate response. “The army challenged the suspected infiltrators, leading to an exchange of fire,” officials said.

In the Dudniyal sector, several blasts were reported, suggesting a possible coordinated attempt. Flares were deployed to illuminate the area and monitor border activity.

The Indian Army confirmed the incidents, stating: “In the Kupwara sector, troops observed suspicious movement along the LoC and fired towards it around 7 PM. Operations are ongoing. More details awaited.”

The incidents follow heightened alert along the LoC after recent ceasefire violations and increased cross-border militant activity. Counter-operations are continuing.
