Mastermind Behind Rahul Fazilpuria Attack to Be Deported to India.
Sunil Sardhania, the alleged mastermind behind the July attack on singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria, is being deported to India from Zurich, Switzerland, officials confirmed. Sardhania was initially traced to Jerusalem with Interpol’s assistance before being detained in Zurich.
Upon arrival in India, police will take Sardhania into custody and transport him to Gurugram for interrogation.
The Fazilpuria Attack
On the night of July 14, two shots were fired at Fazilpuria’s car on Badshahpur Southern Peripheral Road (SPR). The bullets hit a divider pole, but Fazilpuria escaped unharmed. Sardhania, a former close associate of the singer, later claimed responsibility on social media, implicating Deepak Nandal, a music producer, and Indrajit Yadav, allegedly connected to the Himanshu Bhau gang.
According to Sardhania, the attack was over Rs 5 crore he claimed Fazilpuria had taken from Nandal and failed to return. He also threatened to target Fazilpuria’s associates over a 10-month period if the debt remained unpaid. Fazilpuria, however, had dismissed the social media post as “fake.”
Links to Other Crimes
Sardhania faces multiple charges, including the murder of property dealer Rohit Shaukeen, a close friend of Fazilpuria. In August, Shaukeen was shot dead near Ullahwas Market, Gurugram, by attackers wearing food delivery T-shirts. Investigations suggest the murder was connected to gang conflicts and financial disputes, with Deepak Nandal emerging as a key suspect.
Authorities say the deportation and subsequent interrogation of Sardhania are crucial to unraveling the criminal network behind these violent incidents.
