Haryana Horror: Brother Allegedly Plots Sister’s Rape and Murder in Manesar.
A chilling case of alleged honour killing has surfaced in Manesar, Haryana, where two men have been arrested for sexually assaulting and murdering a 19-year-old woman over her relationship outside her community. Police said the woman’s 28-year-old brother orchestrated the crime and enlisted his 30-year-old friend, who allegedly raped and strangled the victim.
Background
The siblings, originally from Etah and Agra in Uttar Pradesh, had been living in Manesar for six years. Trouble began when the brother discovered his sister was in a relationship with a 24-year-old man from another community and intended to marry him. Police said he first sent her back to their family home on November 15, but she returned to Manesar on November 22 to be with her boyfriend.
The Crime
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Virender Saini, the brother devised a plan to kill her. Acting on his instructions, the friend lured the woman on the night of December 10 near Rampura Chowk under the pretext of helping her elope. Instead, she was taken to an isolated area in Gwalior, where the friend allegedly raped her, assaulted her, and strangled her with a scarf. Her body was later hidden under debris in a field.
Aftermath and Investigation
Both accused fled to their hometowns. The brother allegedly tried to mislead investigators, implicating the woman’s boyfriend, who was later cleared. Sustained questioning led to the brother’s confession, while the friend admitted to both the assault and murder.
An FIR has been registered under sections covering murder, criminal conspiracy, and common intention under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities confirmed that DNA tests, potency examinations, and post-mortem reports will support the ongoing investigation.
