Radha, Yastika return as India name squads for Women’s T20 World Cup, England tour

India have recalled Radha Yadav and Yastika Bhatia while naming a strong squad for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup and the preceding tour of England. The squads were finalised after a selection meeting attended by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, head coach Amol Muzumdar, chief selector Amita Sharma and BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.

Yastika returns after a lengthy injury layoff that ruled her out of last year’s ODI World Cup and the 2026 WPL. The wicketkeeper-batter had undergone ACL reconstruction following a serious knee injury in September 2025.

Radha, meanwhile, is back in the T20I setup after nearly a year, having last played during India’s England tour in July 2025. Earlier this year, she led India A to the Emerging Asia Cup title in Bangkok.

Nandini earns maiden call-up

Fast bowler Nandini Sharma has received her first India call-up, replacing injured duo Kashvee Gautam and Amanjot Kaur. The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough WPL season, becoming the first Delhi Capitals bowler to claim a hat-trick. She finished with 17 wickets in 10 matches at an economy of 8.31.

Bharti Fulmali has been retained after her return during the South Africa series, where she scored 42 runs at a strike rate of 123.52, including a notable knock in Benoni.

Anushka retained, injuries rule out others

Anushka Sharma keeps her place after impressing on the South Africa tour, stepping up as an opener in the absence of Smriti Mandhana.

Kashvee Gautam misses out due to a knee injury, while Amanjot Kaur is expected to remain sidelined for four to five months.

Youngsters miss out

Among those left out are U19 prospects G Kamalini and Vaishnavi Sharma, both of whom had impressed in recent outings and featured in WPL 2026. Vaishnavi was part of the squad against Australia but did not get a game.

India’s spin attack remains a key strength, featuring Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Shree Charani and Shreyanka Patil, with additional support from part-timers like Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet.

Test call-ups for Nandini, Fulmali

Nandini Sharma and Bharti Fulmali have also earned maiden Test call-ups for the one-off match against England at Lord’s. Harleen Deol, though not part of the T20 World Cup squad, has been included in the red-ball side.

India’s T20I series against England begins on May 28, followed by the one-off Test at Lord’s from July 10. The Women’s T20 World Cup starts on June 12, with India opening against Pakistan on June 14 in Birmingham.
