Randeep Hooda Joins Assam Flood Relief Efforts, Serves Meals to Displaced Families

Actor Randeep Hooda travelled to Assam to participate in a flood relief drive, joining volunteers in distributing food and essential supplies to families displaced by the state’s devastating floods.

On Saturday, Hooda took part in a relief programme in Sivasagar organised in collaboration with the humanitarian organisation Global Sikhs. The actor helped distribute ration kits and daily essentials to flood-affected residents sheltering at the Sivasagar railway station, where many families have taken refuge after being forced to leave their homes.

Later in the day, Hooda visited Gurudwara Sahib in Sivasagar, where he offered prayers for the safety and well-being of those affected by the disaster before serving meals at the community langar.

Speaking to the media, the actor said helping those in need was a shared responsibility.

“Many affected families from nearby areas have taken shelter here at the railway station. We prepare food, bring it to them and have been serving meals every day for the past week. Humanity comes above everything else. I’ve been working with Global Sikhs for many years, and the work they do on the ground is remarkable. I urge everyone to contribute in whatever way they can. As human beings, it is our duty to help one another,” Hooda said.

The National Award-winning actor also highlighted that relief efforts extend beyond food distribution, with volunteers identifying families that are yet to receive assistance.

“The team has carefully assessed what people need most. Right now, immediate necessities include food, bedding, mattresses and tarpaulins. We’re preparing relief kits and ensuring they reach those who need them the most. Our volunteers are also searching for people who may not have received any help yet,” he added.

Assam Flood Situation

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the floods have claimed 82 lives so far while affecting millions across the state.

On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked industrialist Gautam Adani for contributing ₹11 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support ongoing rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected communities.
