Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic was crowned Miss World 2026 on Saturday at the grand finale of the global beauty pageant in Vietnam.
She succeeds Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who won the prestigious title in 2025. The 24-year-old Mola emerged victorious after competing against contestants from across the world. Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés Alabern was named the first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty secured the second runner-up position.
Mola holds a degree in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana and has built a diverse career as a Literature and Social Studies teacher, professional model and news correspondent.
She is also the founder of Voices of Tomorrow, an initiative focused on expanding access to English education and creating opportunities for children and young people from vulnerable communities.
Her work in media includes a stint as a correspondent for Univision New York’s Ventana a Quisqueya, where she covered Dominican culture, social issues and community stories. The Miss World organisation has also highlighted her commitment to community service, including her regular visits to orphanages and homes for girls.
Mola’s triumph marks only the second time the Dominican Republic has won the Miss World crown. The country’s first victory came in 1982, when Mariasela Álvarez took the title.
India was represented at Miss World 2026 by Nikita Porwal. Her campaign came to an end after she secured a place in the Top 40.
