Arshdeep Singh Becomes Fastest Indian to 100 T20I Wickets.
Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh achieved a landmark by becoming the first Indian to take 100 T20I wickets. He reached the milestone in just 64 matches, making him the fastest seamer in the format among full-member nations, surpassing Pakistan’s Haris Rauf (71 matches).
Arshdeep made his T20I debut in 2022 against New Zealand and had been stuck on 99 wickets since January 2025, when India benched him for two matches against England. With no T20Is scheduled before the Asia Cup, the seamer had to wait months for his chance.
He finally got an opportunity in India’s third group-stage game of the Asia Cup against Oman. Despite a rusty start, he claimed his 100th wicket with the first ball of the final over, dismissing Vinayak Shukla, caught by Rinku Singh at deep mid-wicket.
Among all nations, only Rashid Khan (53 matches), Sandeep Lamichhane (54), and Wanindu Hasaranga (63) reached 100 T20I wickets faster than Arshdeep. He remains the fastest among pacers, ahead of Rauf (71) and Mark Adair (72).
