CJP’s Saurav Das Hits Back at Kangana Ranaut, Says ‘She Isn’t Taken Seriously by Her Own Party’

Hours after BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut called Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das “useless” in a series of Instagram posts, Das responded by questioning her political credibility and criticizing the language she used.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Das said Ranaut’s own party does not take her seriously and argued that younger generations do not view her as an influential political figure.

“Kangana Ranaut is not taken seriously by her own party. So why should we take her seriously? I don’t think anyone in Gen Z, or in Gen Alpha, or any younger generation takes her seriously or listens to her,” Das said.

Referring to an earlier interview in which Ranaut spoke about adjusting to her role as a first-time Member of Parliament, Das questioned her commitment to politics.

“She is a politician. There were some videos of her when she visited Himachal Pradesh. She said, ‘I thought I would have to work a little. Here you have to work a lot as an MP.’ So this shows her seriousness,” he said.

Das also rejected Ranaut’s criticism of Gen Z, saying young people have played an important role in strengthening democratic participation.

“Many times more than you, Gen Z has done for this country. Gen Z has helped reawaken trust in India’s democracy. You haven’t done it,” he said.

He further objected to the language used by Ranaut in her social media posts, saying public representatives should maintain the dignity of their office.

What Kangana Ranaut Said

The exchange began after Ranaut shared a lengthy Instagram Story targeting Das, questioning how the 28-year-old describes himself as a student and defending her own professional achievements.

Highlighting her career before entering politics, Ranaut said she had already won two National Film Awards by the time she was Das’ age and had spent two decades in public life before becoming an MP.

She also said that balancing her responsibilities as a parliamentarian with her work as a filmmaker, actor, producer and entrepreneur was demanding, adding that Das would not understand what it means to be professionally successful. Ranaut described him as “useless” and urged him to “learn some skill.”

The latest exchange is the newest escalation in the ongoing public war of words between the BJP MP and the CJP spokesperson, with both sides trading personal attacks through interviews and social media.
