The Centre has announced a sharp reduction in the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders, bringing relief to restaurants, hotels and other commercial establishments.

The revised rates came into effect on Thursday. Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been cut by Rs 202 in Delhi and Rs 209 in Kolkata. Following the revision, a 19-kg commercial cylinder will now cost Rs 2,728 in Delhi and Rs 2,872.50 in Kolkata, according to ANI.

There has been no change in the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders, which are used by households.

The latest revision marks the second consecutive reduction in commercial LPG prices after months of steep increases driven by volatility in global energy markets. The first price cut was announced in July.

Commercial LPG rates had risen sharply in recent months as global supply concerns intensified amid the conflict in West Asia, pushing up international LPG prices. The latest reduction is expected to ease operating costs for businesses that rely heavily on commercial cooking gas, particularly in the hospitality and food service sectors.
