CWG 2026: Neeraj Chopra Headlines India’s Busy July 31 Schedule in Glasgow
India will have another action-packed day at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on Friday, July 31, with Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra leading the country’s medal charge in the men’s javelin throw final.
Neeraj will be joined by Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh, giving India three finalists in the marquee event. The javelin final is scheduled for 12:45 AM IST (August 1).
Athletics will offer more medal opportunities as Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu compete in the men’s triple jump final after impressive performances in qualifying.
Meanwhile, Tejaswin Shankar resumes his decathlon campaign after ending Thursday in second place overall. The Indian all-rounder has five events remaining, including the 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and the concluding 1500m, with a medal well within reach.
India will also launch its judo campaign, while several Indian boxers will look to book places in the finals after guaranteeing themselves medals by reaching the semifinals. Track cycling and bowls competitions will continue throughout the day.
