Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Praises PM Modi, Calls Him ‘Strong Father, Caring Mother’

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his humility and personal touch with party workers, likening him to both a “strong father” and a “caring mother.”

In an interview with NDTV, Gupta described Modi as “a saint” who balances firmness with compassion. “He is so down-to-earth that one feels he is like a strong father who can make all kinds of decisions. The next moment, he feels like a caring mother, telling us to take care of ourselves, eat on time, meditate, practice yoga, and study,” she said.

Her remarks came shortly after Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17, which drew congratulatory messages from world leaders including US President Donald Trump, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, and Italian PM Giorgia Meloni.

Gupta also outlined her government’s priorities in Delhi, highlighting efforts to clean the Yamuna River and tackle waterlogging. Stressing the BJP’s commitment to women, she said, “No other party gives women as much opportunity in electoral politics as the BJP.”

Reflecting on the August 20 attack during a Jan Sunwai event, Gupta said the incident would not deter her from meeting the public directly. “I was always with the people during hearings. Thousands came, and I stood with everyone,” she added.
