‘If There’s a Rule of Hanging, Then Hang Me’: Radhika Yadav’s Father Breaks Down After Arrest.

Deepak Yadav, the 51-year-old man accused of fatally shooting his 25-year-old daughter Radhika Yadav at their Gurugram home, reportedly broke down in police custody and urged his family to ensure he is executed for the crime.

“He said he has committed kanya vadh — the killing of one’s own daughter,” said Vijay Yadav, Radhika’s uncle, in a statement to ANI. “He said it at the police station too — ‘If there’s a rule of hanging, then hang me.’”

Police officers involved in the case. that Deepak has remained largely unresponsive during interrogation. “He has offered limited information,” said one investigator. “He appears to be in a state of shock or remorse.”

According to police, Deepak claimed he had been depressed for two weeks leading up to the incident. He reportedly said he felt humiliated by comments from people who accused him of “living off his daughter’s earnings.”

Radhika Yadav was a state-level tennis player and founder of her own tennis academy. She was shot three times in the back while she was cooking in the kitchen of their three-storey house on July 10.

Investigators say the shooting appears to have stemmed from Deepak’s growing insecurity and mental distress over his daughter’s success and the perception that he was financially dependent on her.

Meanwhile, police have ruled out the involvement of Radhika’s mother, Manju Yadav, in the killing.

“There was initial suspicion that she might have known about Deepak’s plan or witnessed the crime,” said Sandeep Kumar, public relations officer of Gurugram police. “But nothing adverse was found against her. The investigation has so far indicated that Deepak acted alone.”

Deepak Yadav remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
