Bill Gates Denies Allegations in Newly Released Epstein Files

Days after newly released Epstein files suggested that Bill Gates had contracted a sexually transmitted disease from encounters with Russian women, the Microsoft co-founder strongly denied the claims in his first public interview since the documents surfaced.

In an interview with Nine News on Wednesday, Gates said the emails cited in the files were false. “Jeffrey wrote an email to himself; that email was never sent. The email is, you know, false. So I don’t know what his thinking was there,” Gates said. “It just reminds me, every minute I spent [with him] I regret, and I apologise that I did that.”

Gates also addressed his broader association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “I regret every minute I spent with him. It’s factually true that I was only at dinners. I never went to the island. I never met any women,” he said. He added that while the meetings were a mistake, they “had nothing to do with that kind of behaviour.”

His ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, previously commented on the allegations, calling the disclosures “beyond heartbreaking” and noting that reading about the victims reminded her of her own daughters.

What the Epstein files claimed

The documents included two emails from July 18, 2013, sent from Epstein’s account. One described Gates allegedly needing medicine “in order to deal with the consequences of sex with Russian girls” and suggested Gates’ former adviser, Boris Nikolic, was drawn into “ethically questionable or potentially illegal” actions.

Gates’ spokesperson dismissed the claims as “absolutely absurd and completely false,” calling Epstein a “proven, disgruntled liar” and asserting that the documents only reflected Epstein’s frustration at not maintaining a closer relationship with Gates.

Gates has previously acknowledged knowing Epstein but has consistently denied any wrongdoing. He has expressed regret over the association after learning of Epstein’s criminal history.

The recent allegations are part of a larger release of three million pages of documents by the US Justice Department, which include thousands of videos, photographs, and correspondence detailing Epstein’s contacts with prominent and wealthy individuals.
