“Jesus Doesn’t Support Genocide”: JD Vance Faces Protest Over US Role in Gaza

US Vice President JD Vance was heckled by anti-war protesters during a Turning Point USA event at the University of Georgia, facing repeated interruptions while delivering his speech.

The disruption began when a protester shouted, “Jesus doesn’t support genocide!” Moments later, another voice accused the administration, yelling, “You’re killing children,” in reference to US support for Israel’s war in Gaza.

The interruptions continued, with protesters repeating, “Jesus Christ does not support genocide” and “You’re bombing children,” forcing pauses in Vance’s address.

How Did Vance Respond?

Responding to the chants, Vance said, “I agree Jesus Christ does not support genocide. Whoever yelled that out from the dark… He certainly does not. I think that’s a pretty easy principle.”

However, he was interrupted again mid-speech. Addressing the accusation that the administration was backing a genocide in Gaza, Vance said the humanitarian situation in the region had been dire before the current administration took office.

He added, “Who’s the person who got a peace agreement in Gaza? Donald Trump.”

As tensions escalated, another protester shouted, “You’re killing children.” Vance responded by highlighting ongoing humanitarian efforts, saying the administration had increased aid to Gaza.

“Right now, you see more humanitarian aid coming into Gaza than at any time in the past five years because we have taken that situation seriously,” he said.

The Turning Point USA event came shortly after Trump sparked controversy over remarks directed at Pope Leo XIV, including a meme portraying himself as Jesus Christ, amid criticism of the ongoing conflict in the region.
