Kamala Harris Says Biden Made Debate Eve Call ‘All About Himself’ in New Memoir.

Vice President Kamala Harris has revealed in her new memoir 107 Days that she was “angry and disappointed” with Joe Biden after a phone call on the eve of her crucial 2024 debate with Donald Trump.

Harris recounts that while preparing in a Philadelphia hotel, Biden phoned to wish her luck but then relayed that associates of his brother would not support her campaign because she had been “saying bad things about him.”

“I just couldn’t understand why he would call me, right now, and make it all about himself,” Harris writes, describing the distraction as a blow ahead of a critical debate.

She adds that when she asked Biden to connect her directly with the group, he instead shifted to defending his own debate performance months earlier. “I beat him the other time; I wasn’t feeling well in that last one,” Biden told her, according to Harris.

Harris also criticises Biden’s leadership in the memoir, saying his response to the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 “did not meet the gravity of the moment” and expressing concern over his declining campaign presence. She further recalls feeling undermined by Biden’s team, writing, “Their thinking was zero-sum: If she’s shining, he’s dimmed.”
