Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has weighed in on the controversy surrounding.
The song Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse (Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke in Hindi), featuring Nora Fatehi from the upcoming film KD – The Devil. The track recently drew backlash online over its allegedly vulgar and suggestive lyrics, leading to its removal from social media platforms.
Speaking to ANI, Ranaut criticised the film industry and called for stricter regulation of what she described as obscenity in films and music videos.
“Bollywood has crossed all limits with vulgarity, tactics, and attention-seeking. The entire country is condemning and reprimanding them. But I don’t think they have any shame,” she said.
She further stressed the need for tighter controls, adding, “There needs to be even more strictness about the display of such vulgarity and obscenity. I think some strict rein will have to be put on Bollywood.”
The controversy erupted after the song’s release on YouTube, where several users criticised its lyrics and visuals as “vulgar” and “inappropriate.” Following the backlash, the track was taken down from the platform.
Amid the row, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued a notice to the makers of KD – The Devil over the use of allegedly suggestive content, seeking its removal from all social media platforms.
So far, the makers of the film have not released an official statement.
Directed by Prem, the Kannada period drama stars Dhruva Sarja and Sanjay Dutt in key roles. The film is backed by KVN Productions, known for projects like Jana Nayagan starring Vijay and Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups featuring Yash.
