Mahavatar Narsimha Maintains Box Office Dominance, Nears ₹250 Crore Mark.
Hombale Films’ animated mythological drama Mahavatar Narsimha continues its remarkable box office run, holding strong even after nearly a month since release. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film has broken multiple records and emerged as an unexpected blockbuster.
Released on July 25, Mahavatar Narsimha is the first entry in a planned seven-part animated universe based on Lord Vishnu’s avatars.
Box Office Update – Day 29
According to Sacnilk.com, the film earned ₹2 crore across all languages on its 29th day (Friday), pushing its domestic total to ₹220.75 crore. Despite facing competition from big titles such as Son of Sardaar 2, Dhadak 2, War 2, and Coolie, the film remains the audience’s top choice. With no major releases this week, trade experts predict it could surpass the ₹250 crore milestone soon.
Plot
The story follows Lord Vishnu’s fourth avatar, Narsimha, who appears as a half-man, half-lion to destroy the demon king Hiranyakashyap and protect his devout follower Prahlad.
Future Installments
The franchise is planned to unfold over the next decade with upcoming titles including Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh (2031), Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033), and Mahavatar Kalki (2035 & 2037).
OTT Release
An official streaming date is yet to be announced, though the film is expected to premiere on JioHotstar following its theatrical run. Trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal noted the speculation is based on Hombale Films’ previous collaborations with the platform, which hosted Hindi versions of Salaar and Raajakumara.
