Mirzapur The Movie continues its strong run at the box office, crossing the ₹100 crore mark in India within just four days of its release.

The Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal-starrer has delivered better-than-expected numbers and is emerging as one of the biggest theatrical successes in the franchise.

Mirzapur The Movie Box Office Collection Day 4

The film opened to an impressive ₹25.75 crore on Day 1, comfortably surpassing trade estimates of ₹18-20 crore. Its opening-day collection was also higher than the first-day numbers of films such as Saiyaara (₹22 crore) and Awarapan 2 (₹21.50 crore).

The film gained further momentum over the weekend. It collected ₹32 crore on Saturday before registering its biggest single-day haul of ₹36 crore on Sunday.

As expected, collections dipped on Monday. However, the film remained strong and added ₹15.50 crore to its total. With this, Mirzapur The Movie has collected ₹109.25 crore net in India in its first four days.

The performance is particularly notable given that the film does not rely on a conventional Bollywood superstar as its lead. Instead, the popularity of the Mirzapur franchise and its established characters appears to have translated strongly into theatrical footfall.

Mirzapur The Movie Review

The film has largely benefited from the nostalgia associated with the original series. For existing fans, the return of familiar characters and the franchise’s trademark world provides much of its appeal.

While the film does not quite match the impact of the first two seasons, it has been received as a more enjoyable outing than the third season. Newcomers can follow the story without knowing every detail of the series, although the theatrical experience is clearly geared towards longtime fans.

The post-credit scene also hints at more developments in the Mirzapur universe, suggesting that the story may not be over yet. While the franchise arguably works better in its longer OTT format, the movie offers enough of its trademark drama and action to appeal to dedicated fans.
