NIA Names Pak Terror Groups, Five Accused in Pahalgam Attack Chargesheet

Nearly eight months after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet naming seven accused, including five individuals.

And two Pakistan-based terror outfits — Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF) — in connection with the attack that claimed 26 lives.

According to the chargesheet, the attack was the result of a Pakistan-backed conspiracy, with detailed accounts of the roles played by the accused, their handlers, and the logistical support provided to carry out the strike. The NIA has accused LeT and its proxy outfit TRF of planning, facilitating, and executing the Pahalgam attack.

The agency has identified Sajid Jatt, a senior LeT commander, as the main handler of the operation. He has been named prominently in the 1,597-page chargesheet, which lays out evidence including communication records, operational planning, and links between the attackers and their Pakistan-based controllers.

The chargesheet underscores the involvement of cross-border terror networks and details how the attack was coordinated, from recruitment and training to execution on the ground.
