Khanna Defends Shaktimaan

Khanna also took issue with Raina’s remarks on Shaktimaan, saying the comedian had no right to criticise the iconic character.

“This Mr Raina, who supports such content and criticises others, has also criticised a character like Shaktimaan. He has no right to do that,” he said.

Addressing long-standing claims about the show, Khanna added, “He doesn’t even know that no children died because of the show. Some narratives were created earlier, but we clarified them at the time. We even won court cases—reports from places like Begusarai and Pune were proven wrong. Those incidents happened for other reasons but were wrongly linked to Shaktimaan.”

He further defended the show’s legacy, saying, “Shaktimaan ran successfully for seven years—that itself proves its goodness, popularity and innocence. Children grew up with it. But if they grow up consuming this kind of content, the generation will go astray.”
