Pakistan on ‘Full Alert’, Defence Minister Says War With India Cannot Be Ruled Out.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday warned that Islamabad cannot dismiss the possibility of an “all-out war” with India, saying the country remains on “full alert” amid rising regional tensions.

In an interview with Samaa TV, Asif said, “We are neither ignoring India nor trusting it under any circumstances. Based on my analysis, I cannot rule out an all-out war or any hostile strategy from India, including border incursions or attacks. We must stay fully alert.”

His remarks follow heightened rhetoric from both sides. Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi had recently called Operation Sindoor an “88-hour trailer,” signalling readiness to respond decisively to any provocation.

The statements come after a series of attacks this year, including the November 10 New Delhi car explosion that killed 15, the second major strike on Indian soil after the Pahalgam attack.

Asif also linked the regional tensions to Pakistan-Afghanistan friction, alleging India’s role in attacks launched from Afghan territory and warning of a potential two-front conflict. He claimed that while Pakistan seeks to enforce border security, India is using Afghanistan to fuel instability, describing Kabul as “fighting a proxy war for Delhi.”

Amid these claims, cross-border clashes between Pakistan and the Taliban earlier this year had already heightened tensions, with a ceasefire brokered in October through mediation by Turkey and Qatar.
