Priya Sachdev Seeks Confidentiality Before Disclosing Sunjay Kapur’s Assets.
Priya Sachdev Kapur, widow of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, has approached the Delhi High Court requesting a non-disclosure agreement before submitting details of her late husband’s assets. The court is scheduled to hear the plea on Thursday.
In an order dated September 10, the High Court had directed Priya Kapur to provide a comprehensive list of all movable and immovable properties owned by Sunjay Kapur as of June 12, the day he passed away.
Family Dispute Over Estate
The case involves a high-stakes dispute over assets estimated at ₹30,000 crore. Sunjay Kapur, who died suddenly, left behind children from his previous marriage to actress Karisma Kapoor, as well as his widow, Priya Kapur. Sunjay and Karisma, married in 2003, had two children, Samaira and Kiaan, and divorced in 2016.
The children have challenged the validity of a will presented by Priya Kapur, claiming it is “forged and fabricated” and unfairly excludes them. They argue that their father had promised to secure their financial future through a family trust. Priya Kapur, however, defended the will, noting the children had already received ₹1,900 crore from the trust shortly before filing the suit. Sunjay Kapur’s mother, Rani Kapur, has also joined the proceedings, alleging she was left with nothing and accusing Priya of selling her late son’s assets.
Sudden Death Sparks Legal Feud
Sunjay Kapur, 52, collapsed while playing polo in England in June. Initial reports speculated a bee sting or allergic reaction, but the Surrey Coroner’s office later confirmed he died of a sudden heart attack, citing left ventricular hypertrophy and ischemic heart disease as contributing factors.
His unexpected death has sparked a legal battle over his ₹30,000-crore fortune, with the family feud intensifying in the courts.
