Endrick Joins Lyon on Loan from Real Madrid Ahead of Christmas.

Brazilian prodigy Endrick has completed a sensational loan move to Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old will be eligible to play for Lyon from January 1, when the transfer window opens, and is set to return to Madrid in June. “This year Christmas falls on December 23rd,” the French club quipped on social media, highlighting the festive timing of the move.

Under the agreement, Lyon will cover half of Endrick’s wages, with no buy option included.

Born Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa in Taguatinga, Brazil, the forward began his career at Palmeiras and was widely hailed as the next Pele. He secured a high-profile move to Real Madrid but has struggled for regular playing time. The six-month stint at Lyon is expected to give him valuable experience and enhance his profile ahead of returning to Madrid.

Currently, Lyon sit fifth in Ligue 1 with 27 points from 16 games, recording 8 wins, 3 draws, and 5 defeats, trailing leaders Lens, PSG, Marseille, and Lille. Meanwhile, Real Madrid occupy second place in La Liga with 42 points from 18 matches, four points behind arch-rivals Barcelona.
