SBI Alert: Internet Banking, YONO, UPI, and Other Digital Services to Be Unavailable for One Hour on October 25.
The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a scheduled maintenance window that will temporarily disrupt several key digital banking services, including UPI, IMPS, YONO, Internet Banking, NEFT, and RTGS. The downtime is scheduled for October 25, 2025, from 01:10 am to 02:10 am IST, lasting 60 minutes.
During this period, customers will not be able to access these online and mobile banking services. However, SBI has advised users to rely on SBI ATMs and UPI Lite, which will continue to function during the maintenance period. The bank apologized for any inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience.
“Due to scheduled maintenance activity, our services UPI, IMPS, YONO, Internet Banking, NEFT & RTGS will be temporarily unavailable from 01:10 hrs to 02:10 hrs on 25.10.2025 (60 Minutes). These services will resume by 02:10 hrs on 25.10.2025 (IST),” SBI posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Earlier this week, SBI had also announced UPI maintenance for October 24, 2025, between 00:15 hrs and 01:00 hrs, which was later postponed. A revised schedule will be shared by the bank at a later date.
Alternatives During SBI Service Downtime
If SBI services like YONO, Internet Banking, NEFT, RTGS, or UPI are unavailable, you can use the following alternatives:
1. UPI Lite for Quick Payments
What is UPI Lite?
UPI Lite is a simplified version of UPI that works even when the bank server is down. It supports small-value transactions (up to Rs 500) without requiring a PIN for each payment.
How to Use UPI Lite:
- Open any UPI-enabled app like PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, or Google Pay.
- Navigate to the UPI Lite section (usually on the home screen).
- Activate UPI Lite by linking your SBI account (if not already done).
- Add balance to your UPI Lite wallet (max Rs 2,000 at a time).
- Make instant payments without waiting for bank approval.
Where it’s useful: groceries, tea stalls, travel fares, and other small payments. No SMS or UPI PIN needed for each transaction.
2. Use SBI ATM or Debit Card
SBI ATM services will remain functional during the outage.
Options Available:
- Withdraw cash from any SBI or other bank ATM.
- Check account balance at ATMs.
- Make purchases at shops using your SBI debit card.
- Use the card for delivery payments or utility bills.
