Stampede-Like Crowd Eruption at Shreya Ghoshal Concert in Cuttack.

A stampede-like situation occurred on Thursday evening at Shreya Ghoshal’s concert at Baliyatra Ground in Cuttack, Odisha, leaving at least three attendees fainting.

The chaos unfolded near the stage barricade, where a large crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the popular Bollywood singer. Reports indicate that the surge of people created disorder, prompting police to use a mild lathi charge to bring the situation under control.

The concert was held on the final day of the historic nine-day Bali Jatra festival, attracting thousands of visitors. Eyewitnesses said that the crowd control arrangements were overwhelmed, as attendees pressed against barricades to get a closer view of the stage. Several people fainted from exhaustion and lack of air, adding to the panic.

Senior police officials, including the Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP), rushed to the scene to manage the crowd and ensure safety.

Earlier in the day, Shreya Ghoshal shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) about her upcoming performance. She wrote:

“On my way to Cuttack for a show today but also excited about what’s coming in two days. Let’s kill some time until soundcheck. AMA?”

She also shared a selfie along with the post, showing her excitement ahead of the concert.
