Border 2 Box Office Day 10: Sunny Deol’s War Drama Bounces Back, Nears Rs 400 Crore Worldwide

After a strong opening and a brief mid-week slowdown, Border 2 regained momentum at the box office on Day 10. The war drama, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, collected Rs 22.50 crore on its second Sunday, bouncing back after a post-Republic Day dip.

With this, the film’s total net collection in India has reached Rs 277 crore, while its gross domestic earnings have crossed Rs 330 crore. Worldwide, Border 2 has raked in over Rs 367 crore, edging closer to the Rs 400 crore milestone.

Occupancy numbers reflected steady audience interest. Jaipur led the pack with 61% occupancy across 186 shows, followed by Chennai at 43% and Delhi NCR at 39.5%. Mumbai saw 31% occupancy from 727 shows nationwide.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 classic Border, featuring Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana in pivotal roles. The film has also delivered career milestones for its male leads.

Critics have largely praised the sequel. News18 Showsha gave it four stars, noting: “Border 2 is more polished, louder, and ambitious than the original. While it doesn’t fully recreate the magic of 1997, it honors it, offering a modern extension driven by the same emotional intent. It’s indulgent and occasionally overlong, but sincere, emotional, and unapologetically patriotic—a reminder that war films resonate because of the people behind the uniforms, not just the explosions.”
