Taylor Swift Drops 12th Studio Album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
The wait is over! On October 3, at 12 AM ET (9:30 AM IST), Taylor Swift officially released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. Sharing a short clip on her Instagram Stories featuring an orange door, Swift hinted at a new era in her music, sending fans, known as Swifties, into a frenzy.
The 35-year-old singer had teased the album in August on fiancé Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights, revealing insights into her creative process and the inspiration behind the project. Swift described the album as a reflection of her “inner life” during the exuberant and electric Eras Tour, capturing moments that were wild, joyful, and dramatic.
Tracklist
The album features 12 tracks: The Fate of Ophelia, Elizabeth Taylor, Opalite, Father Figure, Eldest Daughter, Ruin the Friendship, Actually Romantic, Wi$h Li$t, Wood, CANCELLED!, Honey, and the title track The Life of a Showgirl featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Swift collaborated with producers Max Martin and Shellback in Sweden, marking her first full-length project with the duo since Reputation (2017). This is her first album since 2024’s record-breaking The Tortured Poets Department.
Official Release Party
To celebrate, Swift will host Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl in theatres across the US and internationally from October 3–5. The 89-minute feature will include the premiere of the music video The Fate of Ophelia, behind-the-scenes footage, a new lyric video, and never-before-seen personal reflections from the singer.
