Trump Says He May ‘Start Liking’ Hillary Clinton After Nobel Peace Prize Remark.

US President Donald Trump quipped that he might “have to start liking” his former political rival Hillary Clinton after she suggested she would nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize—if he successfully brokered peace between Russia and Ukraine.

The remark came during an interview with journalist Bret Baier aboard Air Force One. Baier pointed out Clinton’s statement that she would back Trump for the prestigious award if he managed to end the conflict without concessions to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Well, that was very nice,” Trump responded. “I may have to start liking her again.”

Clinton Floats Nobel Nomination

Clinton, who lost the 2016 presidential election to Trump, made the surprising comment on the Raging Moderates podcast.

“Honestly, if he could bring about the end to this terrible war, if he could end it without putting Ukraine in a position where it had to concede its territory to the aggressor, could really stand up to Putin… maybe this is the opportunity,” she said.
“If President Trump were the architect of that, I’d nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize.”

She added her stance was rooted in ensuring Ukraine doesn’t capitulate to Moscow: “My goal here is to not allow capitulation to Putin.”

Trump-Putin Talks in Alaska

Clinton’s comments coincided with Trump’s high-stakes meeting with Putin in Alaska, aimed at ending the three-year war in Ukraine. Speaking to reporters before departure, Trump insisted on an immediate ceasefire.

“I want a ceasefire today,” he said. “I won’t be happy with anything less.”

The talks at a Cold War-era airbase are being closely watched, with expectations that any breakthrough could reshape global geopolitics.

A Rivalry with History

Trump and Clinton’s political feud has spanned nearly a decade. During the 2016 campaign, Clinton branded Trump’s supporters a “basket of deplorables” and accused him of being “temperamentally unfit” for office, while often criticising his overtures toward Putin.

Now, in an ironic twist, the former Secretary of State’s conditional promise of a Nobel nomination has given Trump an unusual reason to praise her.
