UP Woman Allegedly Thrown Off Roof by Husband After Resisting Assault; Police Probe Underway.
A 26-year-old woman was allegedly thrown off the roof of a two-storey house in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, after she resisted her husband’s attempt to force himself on her, police said.
The woman, identified as Teeja, a resident of the Mau Ranipur area, told police that her husband, Mukesh Ahirwar, assaulted her after she refused to have sex with him. She alleged that Ahirwar, along with his parents, pushed her off the roof in anger on Tuesday.
According to the woman’s statement, she married Ahirwar in 2022 after they met at a temple. For the first year, their relationship was cordial, but soon after, Ahirwar began staying away from home for long periods and allegedly assaulted her on his return.
On Monday, she claimed, he came home after several days, beat her, and tried to force himself on her. The next day, when she resisted again, he and his parents allegedly attacked her and threw her off the terrace.
Locals rushed to help after hearing her screams and took her to a nearby health centre. She was later referred to Jhansi Medical College, where doctors said her condition is stable.
