India captain Vikramaditya Chaufla battled through a strong international field to clinch the Willingdon Indian Racketlon Open title.
Chaufla, a multiple World Championship medallist, was pushed hard in the B-category final, where he edged out compatriot Animesh Kejriwal 21–18, 21–10, 10–21, 19–18 over the weekend.
Earlier, he survived a gruelling semifinal against Russian veteran Dmitry Dubovenko, rallying from a slow start to win 9–21, 21–16, 21–16, 21–17.
Racketlon, a fast-growing discipline, requires players to compete across four racket sports — table tennis, badminton, tennis and squash.
The Open, an international Super World Tour event, was held alongside the World Tour Finals featuring the world’s top eight men and women. The tournament was hosted by the Willingdon Sports Club with support from Ajoy Bhandare and Nikhil Bhandare, while RISA president KK Cheema and FIR chief Duncan Stahl also played key roles in organising the second edition.
