North Carolina Woman Found Alive in Colorado After Nine Months Missing.
Kelsey Pittman, a 33-year-old woman from North Carolina who vanished near California’s Death Valley National Park in late 2024, has been found alive in Colorado after being missing for nine months, officials confirmed.
Pittman was last seen in November 2024, and her disappearance triggered a multi-state search. On July 22, the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office announced her recovery in an official statement, saying, “The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office is relieved to announce that [Kelsey Pittman] has been located alive in the state of Colorado.”
Authorities have not shared details about how or where Pittman was found, citing the need to respect her and her family’s privacy.
The search began after Pittman’s mother reported her missing when she could no longer contact her. In February 2025, a white 2009 Chevrolet HHR registered to Pittman was discovered abandoned near The Pads — a remote, unregulated camping area near Death Valley. This led to an intensive search effort involving drones, cadaver dogs, and volunteer teams scouring the harsh desert terrain over several months.
Throughout the investigation, Pittman’s mother remained in close contact with law enforcement and provided critical leads, including possible aliases her daughter might be using, such as “Infinity Jane” or “Jane Jones.”
Earlier this month, investigators admitted they had found no conclusive evidence of Pittman’s whereabouts despite exhaustive efforts. She was described as a Caucasian woman, 5’5” tall, weighing about 130 pounds, with blonde or light brown hair.
Her sudden reappearance in Colorado has raised questions about what transpired over the nine months she was missing, but for now, her family and the authorities are focused on her well-being and recovery.
