Elon Musk Rips Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ Again: “Utterly Insane, Political Suicide.”
Just weeks after a heated public spat with former U.S. President Donald Trump, Elon Musk has reignited his criticism of the White House-backed “Big Beautiful Bill,” branding it “utterly insane” and “political suicide” for the Republican Party.
The tech mogul, who turned 54 on Saturday, took to social media to slam the bill just hours before a crucial Senate vote that could determine the future of Trump’s legislative agenda.
“The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country,” Musk wrote.
“Utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future.”
Musk didn’t stop there. Citing internal polling, he warned that the bill would be “political suicide” for Republicans. He also criticized its projected $5 trillion increase to the national debt, warning it would put the country in the “fast lane to debt slavery.”
Musk vs. Trump: A Bitter Rift
Earlier this month, tensions flared between Musk and Trump over the sweeping tax-and-spending package. Musk accused Trump of “ingratitude” despite billions in government contracts awarded to his companies. In response, Trump threatened to block future contracts and branded Musk “disloyal.”
The feud simmered down after Musk deleted several inflammatory posts, including one that referenced Trump’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein. He later issued a rare public apology.
What’s in the Bill?
According to the New York Post, the multi-trillion-dollar legislation includes:
- Permanent extension of Trump’s 2017 tax cuts
- Elimination of taxes on tips and overtime
- Increased funding for border security
- Repeal of green energy tax credits enacted under President Biden
Despite Republican control of the Senate, the bill has hit a procedural snag. Democrats have slowed the process by demanding a full reading of the bill’s 940 pages before debate begins.
Meanwhile, Trump has issued a stark warning: failure to pass the bill would be an “ultimate betrayal” of the American people. He also lashed out at North Carolina Republican Senator Thom Tillis for voting against the proposal.
