Alcaraz Dismantles Norrie, Fritz Survives Khachanov Fightback to Reach Wimbledon Semis.

Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz have booked their spots in the Wimbledon 2025 semi-finals after securing contrasting victories on Tuesday, July 8. While Alcaraz cruised past British hopeful Cameron Norrie in straight sets, Fritz was made to work hard in a four-set battle against Karen Khachanov.

Alcaraz Unstoppable at Centre Court
Two-time defending champion Alcaraz delivered a clinical performance against Norrie, registering a commanding 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 victory in just under two hours. The Spaniard stamped his authority early, breaking Norrie twice in the opening set and silencing the home crowd with his precision and power.

Despite spirited support from the stands, Norrie struggled to mount any resistance as Alcaraz served 13 aces and converted five break points. The 22-year-old extended his unbeaten run at Wimbledon to 23 consecutive matches and reached his eighth career Grand Slam semi-final, as he eyes a third consecutive title at SW19.

Fritz Holds Off Khachanov Comeback
Over on Court 1, Fritz earned his maiden Wimbledon semi-final appearance with a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4) win over Russia’s Khachanov. The American was in full control during the first two sets but faltered in the third, allowing Khachanov to storm back and dominate with an aggressive baseline game.

Fritz regrouped in the fourth, showing composure under pressure as the set went to a tiebreak. Holding his nerve, he edged past Khachanov to seal the match and advance to the last four at a Grand Slam for the second time in his career.

“I’ve never had a match flip so suddenly,” Fritz admitted post-match. “I had to really dig deep and get the match back to neutral. It was a mental battle.”

Semi-Final Showdown Set for July 11
Alcaraz and Fritz will now face off in a blockbuster semi-final clash on Friday, July 11, with a place in the Wimbledon final on the line. It will be a test of Alcaraz’s grass-court dominance against Fritz’s newfound confidence and resilience.
