Rajasthan Teacher Accused of Failing 40 Students Over Tuition Fee Refusal.
A major controversy has erupted in Rajasthan’s Sirohi district after 40 Class 11 students from a government school were allegedly failed in physics for refusing to attend private tuition classes offered by their teacher.
The accused, Rajendra Jain, teaches physics at Government Secondary School, Naveen Bhawan. According to protesting parents and guardians, Jain demanded ₹15,000 from students for his private coaching sessions and allegedly warned that only those who enrolled would pass the subject.
Tensions escalated after one of the failed students reportedly attempted suicide following the results, sparking widespread outrage.
“He openly told the class that if they didn’t join his tuition, they would fail. These are bright students who excelled in other subjects,” said one guardian during the protest outside the school on July 10.
Protesters claim that the teacher neglected classroom instruction and provided no academic support, effectively pressuring students to opt for private tuition. They have demanded Jain’s immediate suspension and re-evaluation of the answer sheets.
Police have been deployed at the school to maintain order. While no FIR has been registered yet, authorities confirmed that an inquiry is underway based on the complaints.
District education officials have not yet issued an official response to the allegations. Meanwhile, parents continue to press for action and transparency.
