A high-profile lineup of national leaders is set to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar, who will take oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the tenth time.
The ceremony, scheduled for November 20 at Patna’s iconic Gandhi Maidan, follows the formal dissolution of the Bihar Assembly, clearing the path for the NDA to form the government once again.
PM Modi to Lead Dignitaries at Ceremony
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest, prompting an extensive security build-up and large-scale preparations at the venue. Security forces and administrative teams began final arrangements on Monday to manage the expected influx of VIPs and attendees.
Alongside the Prime Minister, several senior BJP leaders — including Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP national president JP Nadda — will be present. Their participation underlines the BJP’s strengthened standing in Bihar after emerging as the single largest party in the recent Assembly elections.
Chief Ministers and Top NDA Leaders to Gather
Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from multiple BJP- and NDA-ruled states will attend the event. Confirmed attendees include:
Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh)
Rekha Gupta (Delhi)
Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand)
Mohan Yadav (Madhya Pradesh)
Bhajan Lal Sharma (Rajasthan)
Devendra Fadnavis (Maharashtra)
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is also likely to join the gathering.
A Landmark Tenth Term
Nitish Kumar — who has already completed nine terms in office — will be sworn in for an unprecedented tenth term, marking a significant moment in Bihar’s political history.
In the recent elections, the NDA secured over 200 seats in the 243-member Assembly. The BJP won 89 seats, the highest among all parties, followed by the JD(U) with 85, cementing the alliance’s decisive mandate to form the next government.
