Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar Set to Become Bollywood’s Longest Film in Decades? Runtime Details Inside

Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh alongside Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, has been generating considerable buzz ever since its announcement.

The character posters and trailer have already raised expectations, and now the film’s reported runtime has added to the anticipation. According to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, Dhurandhar Part 1 is expected to run for around 3 hours and 32 minutes, with the final duration likely to be close to 3.5 hours. While the official runtime remains undisclosed, the source indicated that the censor certification process has begun. The exact runtime will be confirmed once the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issues its clearance.

Explaining the lengthy duration, the source added that Dhurandhar covers a vast narrative canvas.
“Aditya Dhar is an expert storyteller. Whether it’s Uri: The Surgical Strike or productions like Article 370, Dhoom Dhaam, and Baramulla, his films are packed with content and never feel stretched. Dhurandhar follows the same approach — the storytelling is dense, and the audience will have plenty to stay engaged with from start to finish.”

If the reported runtime holds true, Dhurandhar will become Bollywood’s longest film in nearly 17 years. The last mainstream Hindi film of comparable length was Jodhaa Akbar (2008), which clocked in at 3 hours and 34 minutes. Earlier titles that crossed the three-hour mark include LOC Kargil (2003; 4 hours 7 minutes), Lagaan (2001; 3 hours 44 minutes), Salaam-E-Ishq (2007; 3 hours 36 minutes), and Mohabbatein (2000; 3 hours 35 minutes).

A separate Bollywood Hungama report states that the makers decided earlier this year to release Dhurandhar as a two-part film, after Aditya Dhar concluded that the material could not fit into a single feature. Part 1 is set to release on December 5, while Part 2 is expected to arrive in the first half of 2026.
