Actor Ashutosh Rana has weighed in on the ongoing debate around Jaya Bachchan’s recent remarks on the paparazzi, offering a more reflective take on human behaviour.
And emotional responses. Speaking to IANS, Rana said people often react sharply because they are emotional beings, but sensitivity eventually leads them to recognise the value of others.
“I believe every person has his own value. We are emotional and sensitive. Because of our emotions, we sometimes feel like attacking someone, but due to our sensitivity, we also realise that God has created the other person just as He has created us,” Rana said, subtly addressing the controversy without taking sides.
Industry Reactions Continue
Jaya Bachchan’s comments have sparked wide discussion within the entertainment industry. ITA founder and actor Shashi Ranjan openly disagreed with her views, saying, “It was Jaya Bachchan’s opinion, and I strongly disagree with her.”
Actor Ameesha Patel also voiced support for the paparazzi, praising their dedication and work ethic. Calling them hardworking and committed, she said the media often goes the extra mile to capture moments for the public.
Why the Controversy Began
At a recent event, Jaya Bachchan had criticised paparazzi culture and questioned the professionalism of photographers, stating she had “no connection” with them. She took aim at what she described as intrusive behaviour and lack of accountability, saying:
“Yeh jo bahar gande, tight pant pehnke, haath mein mobile leke… they think just because they have a mobile, they can take your picture and say what they want. And the kind of comments they pass—what kind of people are these? Where do they come from? What is their education or background?”
Her remarks triggered a wave of responses from industry insiders, with reactions ranging from sharp criticism to empathetic explanations like Rana’s.
