India A Women booked their place in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars final with a commanding five-wicket win over Sri Lanka A Women at the Terdthai Cricket Ground on Thursday.

An all-round show from Radha Yadav powered India to a clinical chase of 119 in just 13.3 overs, setting up a title clash against Bangladesh on Sunday, February 22. Bangladesh advanced earlier after a dominant semi-final performance, bundling Pakistan out for just 56 in 16.4 overs while defending 110 to seal a 54-run victory.

Radha Leads the Charge With the Ball

After being put in to bat, Sri Lanka A Women were restricted to 118 in 19.4 overs thanks to a disciplined Indian bowling effort. Sanjana Kavindi top-scored with 31 off 35 balls, while Shashini Gimhani contributed 22, but Sri Lanka failed to build substantial partnerships as wickets fell at regular intervals.

Radha Yadav starred with the ball, claiming 4 for 19 in 3.4 overs. Her left-arm spin cut through the middle and lower order, preventing any late flourish. She was ably supported by Prema Rawat, who delivered a tight four-over spell of 2 for 9, and Tanuja Kanwar, who also picked up two wickets.

Vrinda’s Blitz Sets the Tone

Chasing 119, India A lost Nandini Kashyap early but quickly regained control through an explosive knock from Dinesh Vrinda. The opener smashed 42 off just 20 balls, striking eight boundaries to put Sri Lanka on the back foot.

Anushka Sharma added a composed 27 to keep the scoreboard ticking. Although Shashini Gimhani struck twice to momentarily check India’s momentum, Radha once again made her presence felt.

The skipper remained unbeaten on 31 off 18 balls, hammering seven fours to seal the chase with 39 balls to spare as India finished at 119 for 5.

With Radha Yadav delivering with both bat and ball, India A Women head into the final against Bangladesh full of confidence and momentum.
