Former India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik and squash star Dipika Pallikal have announced the arrival of their baby girl, Raaha Pallikal Karthik.
The couple shared the joyful news on social media, expressing gratitude and happiness as they introduced Raaha as the younger sister of their twin sons, Kabir and Zian.
In a heartfelt message, the couple revealed that their twins are delighted with the newest addition to the family. “With blessings in our hearts and gratitude beyond words, we joyfully welcome our precious girl into this world. Kabir and Zian are thrilled to introduce their baby sister, Raaha Pallikal Karthik,” they wrote.
Celebrations poured in from across the sporting world, with Virat Kohli leading the wishes. Shikhar Dhawan and Sania Mirza also extended their congratulations to the couple.
Karthik, who enjoyed a long and distinguished career for India as a wicketkeeper-batter, has transitioned into mentoring, coaching, and commentary roles following his retirement. He has represented India across all formats and has also served in key roles in the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, Pallikal remains one of India’s most accomplished squash players. She made history as the first Indian woman to break into the world’s top 10 and has been honoured with the Padma Shri. A multiple medallist at the Commonwealth and Asian Games, she continues to inspire with her achievements.
After taking maternity leave in 2022, Pallikal made a strong comeback, clinching titles at the World Doubles Squash Championships and securing a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022. She had last competed at the Asian Games 2023, where she won gold in mixed doubles, further cementing her legacy in the sport.
