Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday that he held talks with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the Iran ceasefire efforts and the situation in Ukraine, amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
In a post on X, Macron said the two leaders first discussed developments in the Middle East, calling on all parties to respect the ceasefire and ensure it extends to Lebanon.
They also stressed the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and underlined the need for a strong and lasting diplomatic solution to the crisis.
The exchange reflects continued coordination between Paris and Ankara as efforts intensify to stabilise the region while addressing broader conflicts, including the war in Ukraine.
